PEARL — A pair of “Southern Six” senior standouts were recently honored for their play during their final campaigns for their respective schools.

Both Pass Christian’s Brenadan Necaise and Poplarville’s Brock Sheppard each were named Class 4A First Team as selected annually by members of The Mississippi Coaches Association. Necaise helped guide his Pirates to the second round of the Class 4A South State playoffs this season, while Sheppard helped lead the Hornets to a 21-10 overall mark and also to the second round of the Class 4A South State playoffs this season.

Sheppard’s teammate and classmate Jeremiah Moss was named Class 4A Second Team All-State as well. That honor coming on the heels of him being named Class 4A First Team All-State in football, after leading Poplarville to its first-ever state championship on the football field from his tight end spot last season.
