BILOXI — Head coach Nate Encrapera’s second season at St. Patrick will also be a season of firsts for the Fighting Irish.

Two of the first three games on the schedule for the upcoming season will be new foes for SPHS. The Fighting Irish will meet Christian Collegiate Academy in week one on Fri., Aug., 29th and Amite in week three on Fri., Sept., 12th.

The Fighting Irish hosts CCA to open the season.The Bulldogs out of Gulfport are playing their first season of 11-man football and will compete in The Midsouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS), or private school group. The MAIS is a consortium of schools in Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Amite, which hosts SPHS, is also an MAIS member.

St. Patrick also welcomes Presbyterian Christian back to its schedule for the first time in 11 years, since

The Bobcats are a new foe of SPHS in Region 8-3A.

The new region alignment included some historical changes that may or may not bode well for holdover members of the loop, losing just one school in Perry Central but gaining a former private school powerhouse in Presbyterian Christian.

24 in 2025

SouthMiss6 Sports began its daily previews of the 24 prep football teams in the “Southern Six” that are members of the Mississippi High School Activities Association this weekend including SPHS today..

We will profile one team each day for 24 straight days as we work toward the kick off to the 2025 prep football season in South Mississippi.

Time to tee it up

Football practice begins for all of those 24 squads on Monday, Aug. 4th. Some teams will compete in jamborees on Friday, Aug. 22rd as well as Thursday, Aug. 21st and Saturday, Aug. 23 as they continue to tune up for the start of the season the next week.
