BILOXI — For the first time in eight years, Biloxi picked up a home win over Pascagoula Friday night.
And it also resulted in the first win of the new season for the Indians.
Biloxi jumped out to a 21-0 first half lead and held on at the end for a 21-18 win over visiting Pascagoula at The Biloxi Sports Complex. The decision leaves both teams at 1-1 on the young campaign.
It also denied Pascagoula a 2-0 start for the third straight season, and prevented the Indians from starting a season at 0-2 for the first time since 2017, or the same year BHS last beat PHS at home.
“We needed this win for some confidence, needed something to show for the hard work,” second year BHS head coach Jamey Dubose said. “Our kids have played hard against both opponents that are really talented>’

The Indians rolled up to a 21-0 lead with less than a minute to go in the first half thanks to a trio of rushing touchdowns.
Biloxi quarterback Jordan Ramsey got things going right off the bat as he scored on a 3-yard dash just over a minute into the game. The score was set up by a 53-yard wide receiver screen from Ramsey to Davie Griffin.
Armed with a 7-0 lead, Indian running back Dylan Dixson decided it was his turn as he carried for a 2-yard scoring run to make it 14-0.
Dixson wasn’t finished, as his second touchdown run of the first half, this one from 3-yards out, upped the BHS lead to 21-0 with just over four minutes to play before halftime.

Biloxi defensive back William Lai recovered a fumble and also grabbed an interception as well in the first half.
However, as dominant as Biloxi was in the first two quarters, it could have been much better. Biloxi had a pair of touchdowns called back, one on the ground and another through the air, and then Lai fumbled a punt with :46 seconds left in the first half at his own 43 which the Panthers fell on.
Pascagoula got on the board finally as the halftime horn sounded when Panther place-kicker Miles Sprague booted a 33-yard field goal to make it 21-3.
“That kinda changed the momentum,” Dubose added.
Fortunately, though, for the Indians, those 21 points would be just enough.

Pascagoula scored on an 11-yard scoring scamper by tailback Amarie Jackson on their first possession of the third quarter and on a 45-yard touchdown toss from quarterback Jason Glaude to wide out D.J. Nunnery on its last of the fourth quarter to result in the final count.
“We’ve got to play better offensively in the third quarter,” Dubose concluded. “The same thing hurt us last week. But this week, our kids played hard and the defense found a way to win.”
