For the second time in three seasons under the direction of head coach Jeff Stockstill, Pass Christian has started a season out at 2-0.
The Pirates just hope the current campaign will turn out as successful as Stockstill’s first in 2023 did.
Pass went on the road and pounded Purvis 47-14 Friday night. The Pirates are 2-0 and the Tornadoes, who join East Central, Stone and Vancleave in Region 4-5A this season, are 1-1.

The Pirates got another top effort from versatile quarterback Paris Trivillion, as he threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns and he also added 75 rushing yards and a score to account for over 370 yards of total offense and the five scores.
Dwight Thomas was Trivillion’s favorite target, as Thomas caught six passes for 128 yards and three of the touchdowns. Trivillion also hit Colton Truong on a 15-yard touchdown toss.
Pass junior running back Doug White took care of things on the ground, as he totaled 101 all-purpose yards in the win, and Cecil Lizana also scored a rushing touchdown.
Defensively, Brandon Laneaux picked off an interception for PCHS and returned it for a touchdown to make it 47-7 late in the game.

In 2023, PCHS went 9-3 and made it to the third round of the state playoffs.

West Harrison 35, Forest 7
For the first time in the history of the Hurricane football program, West Harrison has started a season out at 2-0 with both wins coming on the road.
Hurricane standout running back Jordan Stapleton ran for three touchdowns as West Harrison moved to 2-0 on the season with its second straight road win Friday night.
Resurrection 68, CCA 0
The Eagles picked up their first win of the season by thumping the Bulldogs at home Friday night.
Brian Smith ran for three touchdowns and Dominique Sullivan added a pair of scoring runs in the win. Sully May ran for one touchdown and caught a scoring pass from Cortez King also.

Richland 30, Vancleave 27 (OT)
Vancleave dropped to 0-2 with a tough loss in an extra session on the road in Rankin County Friday night.
Bulldog multi-sport tailback Kyle Capers ranfor a pair of touchdowns as did VHS running back Aiden Hall in the loss.
The Rangers trailed late in the game but scored with 3:29 to go in regulation to knot things up and send it into overtime.
