A new weekly feature debuts here at SouthMiss6 Sports this week with “Field Level”.

“Field Level” will be a new addition to our weekly prep sports coverage line-up, when we look at “7 Super Shots in the Southern 6” from the action behind the lens on the playing fields from the previous week in a compilation of images from our award-winning staff of photo/journalists they captured recently.

Let’s get shooting:

First up, in Biloxi, our Chief Photographer Bobby McDuffie grabbed this shot at War Memorial Stadium in Pascagoula Friday night during the renewal of the Ocean Springs-Pascagoula rivalry.

Next, our Steve Coleman was right in the thick of the action at Lee-Triplett Stadium in Picayune as the Maroon Tide welcomed Biloxi to town for the first time in 22 years Friday night.

Not to be outdone, our Joe Harper rolled into A.L. May Stadium on the campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston to catch up with St. Martin at Stone High.

Our Richard Gleber showed up and showed out in Carriere with this gem at the PRC-East Central game.

Also, our Destiny DeBuysere grabbed this shot in a torrential downpour at the West Harrison-Gautier contest.

Plus, our Joe Venus was hunkered down in Hattiesburg and snapped this shot as Pass Christian invaded Presbyterian Christian.

And, our Allan Ritter was entrenched in the Kiln and caught Poplarville’s Ty Keys reacting after his record-setting night Friday.

IN ADDITION, most of our photo/journalists aren’t just out and about covering prep football on Friday nights, but they make a quick transition over to the collegiate sidelines on Saturdays as well. Almost every one of our staff photogs are credentialed to shoot D1 football all across the southeast.

Here, Steve Coleman snapped this shot Saturday night in Hattiesburg at the Southern Miss.-App. State game.
