LUCEDALE — Things are heating up on the prep volleyball courts around the “Southern Six” as the regular season begins to wind down this week.
One key match-up to watch in South Mississippi will include the George County Lady Rebels. And that’s because this season, unlike the recent past, GCHS will in all likelihood face a path that will place them meeting other “Southern Six” squads all throughout their chase for a spot in the overall Class 6 state championship round this season.

The Lady Rebels, you see, have moved from Region 4-6A to Region 3-6A, and head coach — team is dominating its new neighborhood.
George County moved to a perfect 7-0 in league play Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep (25-9, 25-14, 25-16) Tuesday night. George County is now 19-10 overall.
The Lady Rebels have three region encounters remaining, starting with a road match-up in Terry Thursday night.
