Vancleave captured its first win of the season Friday night.
And senior standout tailback Kyle Capers was the main reason why.
Capers rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Bulldogs to a 27-21 win over visiting Greene County.
Vancleave not only got off that winless mark on its record to move to 1-3 on the year, but hung the first loss of the season on the Wildcats as well who dropped to 3-1.

Greene County was without Prep All-American wide out Jase Matthews who was out with an injury.
The Wildcats got rushing touchdowns from running backs Lakeus Franks and Cordarius Molten as well as from quarterback Gage Stinson.

East Central also picked up its first win of the season with a big 41-19 thumping of visiting Forrest County AHS Friday night.
Just like their arch-rivals the Bulldogs, the Hornets also knocked off a previously unbeaten opponent from Region 8-4A to earn their first win of the young campaign. The decision leaves ECHS at 1-3 and FCAHS at 3-1.

The Rebels were the third “Southern Six” team to notch their first win of the season as they slipped past the visiting War Eagles Friday night.
George County is now 1-3 overall, after handing new head coach Kelly Causey his first win at GCHS and his first win as a head coach since 2019 when he was at Koscisuko High.
The Rebels got a 1-yard rushing score from quarterback Wyatt Spidahl, and a 2-yard touchdown plunge from Grant Reeves. Spidahl also found Reeves on a 40-yard touchdown toss, and running back Branden Gautier added an 11-yard scoring scamper.

Gautier rushed 32 times for 185 yards and the touchdown in the win.
The once mighty War Eagles fall to 0-4 on the season for the first time since 2016.
