OCEAN SPRINGS — The Ocean Springs volleyball squad made perhaps one of the biggest statements in program history Tuesday night.

The Lady Greyhounds posted a 3-0 sweep over perennial state power OLA at home in Hubbard Gymnasium 25-17, 25-17, 25-15. The win moved OSHS to an impressive 36-5 overall on the season with just one regular season match left to play.

The Crescents, the three-time defending Class 3A state champs, drop to a solid 30-4 with the loss and also have one regular season match left.

OLA starts the state playoffs Saturday at home. Ocean Springs will host Petal in the opening round of the Class 7A South State playoffs on Tuesday. The Lady Greyhounds are the defending Class 7A South State champs.
