After completing pre-region play against one another last week, both St. Patrick and Resurrection open league play Friday night.
The Fighting Irish grounded the Eagles 36-13 at Vaughan-Wallace Stadium in Gautier. St. Patrick is 2-3 on the season, while RCS is 1-4.

Liam Richards scored two touchdowns for St. Patrick in the win, while Hunter Robinson, Colton Harper and Layton Davis each added one score apiece to the winning effort.
The win snapped a three game losing streak for the Fighting Irish after they opened the season with a 40-0 win over Coastal Christian Academy.
Both RCS touchdowns came from freshman running back Dominique Sanders.
Resurrection’s only win so far also came over CCA, 68-0 in week two.
St. Patrick hosts new Region 8-3A foe Presbyterian Christian this week to open region action while RCS travels to Richton to kick off Region 8-1A action.
As region action opens, the Eagles are looking to get back into the Class 1A South State playoffs for the first time in two years while the Fighting Irish haven’t been to the postseason since 2020.
