CLINTON — One player from the “Southern Six” is out and another is in when it comes to an annual all-star football contest that’s played on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in December.
The rosters for the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Football Game, which will take place at historic Milner Stadium in Gulfport on Saturday, Dec., 20th at 11:30 a.m., were announced recently and a dozen “Southern Six” senior standouts were selected to compete for the South squad.

However, recent changes to the original roster have added Pass Christian wide out Dwight Thomas to the list and deleted Biloxi offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth. Ainsworth reportedly didn’t show up for game orientation meetings and Thomas got the call to replace a player that suffered an injury according to MAC sources.
The roster now includes:
Parker Nettles QB Gulfport
Jordan Stapleton RB West Harrison
John Feaster Jr. WR PRC
D’Lass Nunnery WR Pascagoula
Dwight Thomas, WR Pass Christian
Cohyn Meyers OL Ocean Springs

Javen Bolden DL Picayune
Jaquan Thompson LB Biloxi
Caleb Triplett LB D’Iberville
Yusef Colding LB St. Martin
Sharroid Whitehead Ath Ocean Springs
Peyton Williams PK Ocean Springs
Also, Picayune head coach Cody Stogner will be a member of the South coaching staff.

Down in the Bay
Bay High remains the only team in our coverage footprint without a win so far this season. The Tigers dropped to 0-6 after a close 14-13 loss on the road to Moss Point last week..
The Tigers have lost 10 straight games dating back to mid-season last year and they’ve lost 15 out of their last 16 games dating back to week two of last season.
Bay High is also just 2-19 over its last 21 games. It’s the worst stretch for BHS since it lost 20 straight games from mid-season in 2016-mid-season 2018, which included a 0-10 mark in 2017.

The Tigers are off to an 0-6 start for the first time in seven years, since 2018, when they finished 1-9.
Meanwhile, the only other “Southern Six” squad with a goose egg attached to its record recently was D’Iberville, which was a parfect 6-0 headed into last week but Ocean Springs beat the Warriors 42-21.
