CLINTON — The Dynasty continues.
Perennial state power OLA captured its fourth consecutive Class 3A state volleyball championship Thursday morning, sweeping Alcorn Central 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-22) here at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the campus of Mississippi College.
The win ends yet another title-winning campaign for the Crescents at a sparkling 42-4 overall, and it marks the 18th overall state championship for the tiny but strong program out of Bay St. Louis.

The decision also ensures that two time Class 3A “Miss Volleyball” Myah Favre ends her career with her fourth straight state title as a Crescent.
It is head coach Mike Meyers 15th overall state crown leading the program, as he returned to the first chair this year after serving as an assistant for the past three seasons for his daughter Emily as the former OLA standout under her father led the Crescents to the past three state titles.
OLA ended the season winning 25 of its final 26 matches, with only a loss to Class 7A power Ocean Springs in the final week of the regular season as the lone blemish.

“It’s always a great feeling and it seems like it just gets better every time,” Mike Meyers said. “This is just a tremendous group of girls. We played the toughest schedule we ever had, and they just continued to keep winning.”
Favre, with her NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Brett watching from the stands, helped get things rolling for OLA right off the bat.

After her teammate Taylor Henley tipped off the match with a service ace coming out of the gate, Favre followed with a kill and the Crescents were off and running. OLA doubled up the Lady Bears at one point 12-6, and went on to capture the first set in commanding fashion 25-12.
The second set was just more of the same for OLA, as Loralai Williford combined with Favre up front like a well-oiled machine to jump out to a 7-2 lead and the Crescents powered their way to a 25-14 win.
Alcorn Central came alive, though, in the third and final set, thanks in part to a couple of miscues by OLA on a backrow attack and a net violation and the Lady Bears used that momentum to eventually take a 21-18 advantage late in the session.

But OLA bounced right back to tally seven out of the final points in the set thanks to a pair of thundering kills by Favre and a couple of key serves by Mackenzie Knobloch to seal the deal 25-22.

Favre was named the Most Valuable Player in the championship match.
Alcorn Central finished the season at 25-14-1.
