CLINTON — The senior class of the Ocean Springs volleyball team is the “Southern Six Senior Spotlight” sponsored by Burnham Drugs this week.

Each week of the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports along with Burnham Drugs will highlight a deserving senior student/athlete in the “Southern Six”.

Lady Greyhound seniors Anna Hoffmayer, River Schmidt, Lily Rutland, Lucy Pepper, Rozlyn Vick and Claire Lebatard comprise a group that will go down in school history after Ocean Springs captured its first-ever state volleyball championship Thursday night with a 3-0 sweep of Madison Central here at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the campus of Mississippi College.

That group helped lead the Lady Greyhounds to a sparkling 40-5 record this season in rounding out the most successful season ever in program history.

Ocean Springs dropped only one set over four straight wins in playoff action.
