Bay High remains the only team in thee “Southern Six” without a win so far this season. The Tigers dropped to 0-7 after a 42-0 thumping by visiting Greene County last week..

The Tigers have lost 11 straight games dating back to mid-season last year and they’ve lost 16 out of their last 17 games dating back to week two of last season.

Bay High is also just 2-20 over its last 22 games. It’s the worst stretch for BHS since it lost 20 straight games from mid-season in 2016-mid-season 2018, which included a 0-10 mark in 2017.

The Tigers are off to an 0-7 start for the first time in eight years, since that aforementioned win-less season in 2017.

However, this may surprise some but not all is lost for first-year head coach Katlan French and his Tigers with two games remaining in the regular season.

Bay High heads to Brooklyn this week for a Region 8-4A battle against home-standing Forrest County AHS, and this is a key encounter as far as the upcoming Class 4A South State playoffs are concerned.

The Aggies are 1-1 in the region race, and a win over win-less Bay High would earn FCAHS a berth in those aforementioned state playoffs. However, as strange as it seems, if the 0-7 Tigers can put it all together and somehow pull out their first win of the season, then Bay High would keep its postseason hopes alive and could possibly snatch that state playoff bid away, depending on what happens next week in the regular season finale.
