The Region 4-7A race hits the homestretch this week, and the games take on more importance each week for most of the seven teams in the recently reconfigured league.
Ocean Springs is back in action after an open date last week, and the Greyhounds head to West Harrison for a key region encounter.
Ocean Springs has a recent history of success under third-year head coach Jake Bramlett in the past two seasons after off weeks, winning five straight in 2023 and seven straight in 2024.

The Greyhounds are 2-1 in the region race, while the Hurricanes are 2-2. This is just the third meeting all-time between the two teams, and OSHS is 2-0. Ocean Springs, which thumped D’Iberville 42-21 the last time out before the break, is 6-1 overall and WHHS is 6-2.
The Hurricanes are coming off of a 42-14 loss to visiting Gulfport last week in league play.
Gulfport quarterback Parker Nettles went 19-of-22 passing for 220 yards and three touchdowns in the winning effort, while Admirals standout senior tailback Cooper Crosby ran the ball 21 times for 187 yards with three touchdowns as well.
This week, Gulfport returns home to historic Milner Stadium and awaits the arrival of longtime arch-rival Biloxi in region play.

The Indians and Admirals meet for the 103rd time this week, in a Region 4-7A contest that matters much more to the home team than it does the Indians.
Both teams are coming off of wins in league play last week, and the Admirals lead the Region race at 3-0 while Biloxi sits at 1-2. Gulfport leads the all-time series 63-35-4, and the Admirals have dominated Biloxi as of late winning four straight and 12-of-the-past-13 outings also.
However, the last BHS win in this series came in historic Milner Stadium, 7-6 during the Covid campaign of 2020.
Last week, Biloxi thumped Harrison Central 31-6.
Those Red Rebels host St. Martin in the third and final Region 4-7A contest this week.
D’Iberville is off this week.
