PASS CHRISTIAN — GULFPORT — Pass Christian wide out Amarie James is the “Southern Six Senior Spotlight” sponsored by Burnham Drugs this week.

Each week of the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports along with Burnham Drugs will highlight a deserving senior student/athlete in the “Southern Six”.

James paced the Pirates in reception yardage Thursday night with 115 yards on just three catches as PCHS wrapped up the regular season with a 48-0 win over Bay High in region 8-4A play.

It marked his second straight game with over 100-yards in receptions, as he hauled in five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown last week.

James also surpassed the magical 1,000 career receiving yards plateau in that 28-7 home win for the Pirates on, fittingly enough, “Senior Night” for the Pass. James becomes the fifth receiver all-time at Pass Christian to go over that mark, joining his two older brothers Kam (1,009) and AJ (1,167) also.

James and his Pirate teammates captured their first-ever region title this season and will open the Class 4A South State playoffs at home next week.
