Ocean Springs secured homefield advantage in the opening round of the state playoffs for the fifth straight season with a 35-0 shutout over visiting Harrison Central Friday night at Greyhound Stadium.
Head coach Jake Bramlett’s OSHS squad moves to solid 8-1 overall with the win and to 4-1 in the region race. The Greyhounds, who close out the regular season on the road at St. Martin Thursday night, will open the upcoming Class 7A South State playoffs at home in two weeks.

Ocean Springs notched two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to take a commanding 28-0 lead at halftime.
Greyhound Lanny Waltman completed the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown plunge at the 7:15 mark of the third frame, inducing the running clock and sending fans on both sides streaming towards the exits.
Greyhound running back Solomon Baggett scored on a 34-yard scamper and his sometime backfield mate Sharroid Whitehead added a 2-yard touchdown dash. Ocean Springs quarterback Chalmers Berglind hit Ian Harlan on a 9-yard touchdown toss to open the scoring, and OSHS offensive lineman Raymond Johnson fell on a fumble in the end zone for a score as well.
The Red Rebels drop to 0-5 in region play and 1-8 overall.

Terry 27, George County 20

In a key Region 3-6A affair in Lucedale Friday night, visiting Terry moved to 8-1 overall by escaping Gill-Martin Stadium with a 27-20 win over George County.

The win secured at least the third seed in the region race for the Bulldogs, who are now 3-1 in league play. The loss drops the Rebels to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in league play, and a win on the road in Jackson over Forrest Hill Thursday would ensure GCHS the fourth seed for playoff purposes.

PRC 49, Long Beach 21

Pearl River Central punched its ticket to the Class 6A South State playoffs for the second straight season Friday night by thumping the visiting Bearcats Friday night.

Blue Devils sophomore quarterback Titus Feaster threw for a career-high 448 yards and six touchdowns, with all the scores coming in the first half. Kendall Morrison was his favorite target with three scoring catches and 189 yards in receptions, while the quarterbacks older brother J.J. feaster had two touchdown catches as well and Qorday Russell added a touchdown reception as well.

Titus Feaster also ran for a touchdown.

Junior Brown and Davarion Lee had scoring runs for Long Beach, while S.J. Valentine also hit Jayden Tate with a touchdown toss.

PRC clinched the fourth seed in Region 4-6A with the win, moving to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in league play. Long Beach was elimianted from playoff contention, and dropped to 1-8 and 0-4.
