PASCAGOULA — Pascagoula versatile four-star recruit standout Tylan Wilson is the “Southern Six Senior Spotlight” sponsored by Burnham Drugs this week.

Each week of the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports along with Burnham Drugs will highlight a deserving senior student/athlete in the “Southern Six”.

The Texas A&M commit Wilson has been one of the strongest defensive backs in South Mississippi week-in and week-out over the past two seasons. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder has developed a reputation as a cover corner that can bring the heavy lumber, but is also as fast as they come in coverage and pursuit as well.

He has guided his Panthers to five straight wins and a spot in the Class 6A South State semifinals for the second straight season. He also sees time on the offensive side of things and his speed makes him a deep threat at any time out wide or in the slot.

One recruiting service described him like this: “A long, rangy ballhawk on the back end of the Pascagoula defense. A multi-sport standout, he quickly adjusts, locates and attacks the ball. He also brings a nice physicality to the table, and he gets downhill in a hurry.”
