D’IBERVILLE — Coming into Monday’s match-up with West Harrison in the D’Iberville Thanksgiving Tournament, Pascagoula carried a nine game win streak over West Harrison dating back almost eight years.
However, the Hurricanes snapped that streak in fine fashion.

West Harrison pounced the Panthers 68-43 in the final game of the event at DHS, as the Hurricanes remained perfect on the young campaign at 8-0.
Pascagoula fell to 4-3. The loss was the first for the Panthers to the Hurricanes since head coach Lorenzo Wright’s first season at PHS in 2016-2017.
West Harrison’s Logan Robinson poured in a game-high 32 points in the winning effort.
The Hurricanes led just 20-19 at halftime, as Robinson nailed 11 points in the first half, including a pair of 3-pointers. But Blake Nettles tallied 10 first half points for PHS to keep his team within striking distance.
But the second half was a completely different story.

The Hurricanes exploded for 29 points in the third quarter alone, as Robinson registered 10 more points, including two more treys, and De’Andre Weston stepped up with a pair of 3-pointers of his own as WHHS out-scored PHS by 18 points in the frame to take a commanding 49-30 lead.
But Robinson wasn’t done. Just in case the Panthers had any hopes of a crazy comeback in the final frame, Robinson drained four more treys down the stretch, and the rout was on.
Robinson’s 32-point display was a career-high for the junior guard, while both Weston and Ja’Marcus McCaleb added 10 points apiece for West Harrison and Tylan Lindsey had eight points.

Nettles led PHS with 13 points, while Evan beck added 10 points and Tamir Boykin nine.
The two teams were region 4-6A foes the past two seasons, and Pascagoula beat West Harrison three times each campaign including in the Class 6A South State playoffs two years ago and in the region tournament title tilt last season.
It was the first time Hurricane head coach, who has been on the job for five seasons, beat PHS. Norwood, a former Mississippi State standout player, was an assistant coach at Nicholls State when Wright was a player for the Colonels.
