LUCEDALE — The host George County boys captured the title at the annual Rudolph Sellers Thanksgiving Invitational Tuesday night.
The Rebels came away with a 69-55 win over East Central, in, fittingly enough, Sellers Gymnasium in what was an all “Southern Six” showdown in the championship contest.

Karysn Fairley tallied a game-high 20 points to guide GCHS to the win, while Braylon Fairley was right behind him with 19 points and L.B. Bradley chipped in with 17 points to the winning effort. All three players had four steals each, and Bradley dished out six assists and also pulled down six rebounds. D.J. McNair added a game-high 10 boards and also had five steals.
The win moved the Rebels to 8-2 on the young season as they head into the holiday break. George County moved into the championship contest with a 72-47 win over Perry Central Monday night.

Brody Howard had 15 points to lead the Hornets. East Central is now 3-4 overall. The Hornets got to the title tilt after an impressive 86-67 win over Greene County Monday night.
Fairley was named the Most Valuable Player of the event, and was joined on the Rudolph Sellers All-Tournament team by teammates Braylon Fairley and Bradley. Howard and his ECHS teammate Zane Ramassini. also made the list, as did Carlos McGilvery of Greene County and DJ Parker of Perry Central.
