Each week until the first weekend in March at the overall state tournament in Jackson, SouthMiss6 Sports will be the place to be to keep up with the most complete and comprehensive info about all things prep basketball featuring stories and photos in the “Southern Six” counties of the state of Mississippi.

Each week we will take a look at at least five players and five games to keep an eye on as well as release our weekly “Super 7 in the Southern 6 Poll”.

This week’s “Starting 5 in the Southern 6” players list is comprised of area standouts that were named to the All-Tournament Team in the prestigious Hattiesburg Coca-Cola Christmas Tournament over the weekend.c

1. Ocean Springs vs. George County (boys) — Monday night at 7:30 in Ocean Springs at The Jackson County Basketball Tournament.
2. Pass Christian vs. Jackson Jim Hill (boys)— Monday afternoon at 4:30 in Admiral Holiday Classic in Gulfport.
3. Bay High vs. D’Iberville (girls) — Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 in the Bay High Christmas Tournament.
4. Pascagoula vs. Greene County (boys) — Saturday night at 8 in The Panther Classic in Pascagoula.
5. Resurrection vs. Perry Central (boys) — Saturday morning at 11 in The Panther Classic in Pascagoula.
