OCEAN SPRINGS — Fittingly enough, the home team took the title in the renewal of the Jackson County Boy’s Christmas Tournament Tuesday night over an Alabama opponent.
Ocean Springs held off a strong second half rally by visiting Daphne (Ala.) 67-60 here at Hubbard Gymnasium on the OSHS campus to hoist the hardware in the event. The Greyhounds move to 10-5 overall after completing the 2025 portion of their schedule.

The tourney was sponsored by SouthMiss6 Sports and SouthMiss6 Sports presented an All-tournament Team after the championship contest.
Ocean Springs manhandled George County in opening night play, and then captured its fourth straight win Tuesday night to take the title.
“ It’s coach talk, but we really are just trying to improve each day leading up to the district tournament,” OSHS head coach Collin Goley said. “I thought we did that the last two days. Defensively, we’re flying around and anticipating. Offensively, we’re doing a good job of playing inside out. We’re starting to find our groove. Hopefully, we can build off of this heading into the new year.”

The Greyhounds placed guard Christian Cowan and forward Chas Spring on the All-Tournament Team, while the second place Trojans had Matthew Lightcap on the list. Pascagoula standout senior Dandy Dozen Blake Nettles and George County’s L.B. Bradley rounded out the all-tourney team.
“First, I would like to thank South Miss 6 Sports for sponsoring and helping us with the event,” Goley added. “Next, I want to thank the teams and coaches for coming and participating. Our administration and parents for helping everything go smoothly. “

The event will shift over to Pascagoula High next season.
And speaking of PHS, the Panthers and Nettles dumped Bradley and GCHS 71-41 in the consolation contest Tuesday night as PHS took third place in the event.

The Panthers moved to 11-6 overall with the decision, and the Rebels fell to 9-8.

Both PHS and OSHS will head to Pascagoula Saturday for the annual Panther Classic event.
