LYMAN — The Biloxi girls wrapped up their first round of play in the newly configured Region 4-7A Friday night.
The sixth league encounter for the Lady Indians went just the same as the first five did.
Before a packed house at Harrison Central High, Biloxi bounced the home-standing Red Rebelettes 36-27 in a defensive battle for the top spot in the region race. The win moves Biloxi, considered the top-ranked team in the state by some media outlets, to an impressive 18-1 overall, and the Lady Indians are now 6-0 in league play.

Nia Shannon led the Lady Indians with nine points and six rebounds, while BHS standout Dandy Dozen center Zaniya Johnson added eight points and five boards to the winning effort. Point guard Na’Kenya Terry chipped in seven points and four assists.
The Red Rebelettes got 10 points apiece from Autumn Keeler and Parklynn Floyd, a transfer from Theodore (Ala.). Harrison Central junior stalwart and Dandy Dozen Saniyah Murray had seven points and a game-high 14 rebounds in the losing effort.

Harrison Central fell to 16-2 overall, after suffering its first two losses of the season in a three day span. The Red Rebelettes are now 3-2 in the region race.
Both teams are right back in Region 4-7A play this week, as on Tuesday night HCHS heads to D’Iberville and Biloxi is off until Friday when St. Martin comes calling.
The Lady Indians followed up the win over HCHS Friday night with an impressive 53-24 win over Meridian Saturday.
The 6-foot-5 Prep All-American Johnson exploded in that one, posting a double-double as she poured in a game-high 29 points and pulled down 11 boards. Jayla Carriere and Terry added seven points apiece for BHS, while Aubrey Madden had six points in the win over the Lady Wildcats.
