WIGGINS — The Vancleave girls kept home-standing Stone win-less on the season Tuesday night.
The Lady Bulldogs overcame a 19-14 halftime deficit to pull out a 35-30 win in Region 4-5A play, thanks in large part to the play of senior standout Hiaven Washington.

Washington scored eight points in key third quarter, as visiting Vancleave out-scored the Lady Tomcats 13-7 in that period to take a slight 27-26 advantage heading into the final frame.
Then, Lady Bulldog Joslynn Seymour, who had a 3-pointer during that comeback in the third period, also added a key trey in the fourth quarter, to help VHS secure the win.
Washington led Vancleave with a game-high 20 points, and Seymour added nine points to the winning effort. Vancleave moved to 10-8 overall and 1-2 in the region race with the decision.

Stone fell to 0-18 overall and 0-4 in league play with the loss, despite six points apiece from both Kornea Green and Kaedyn Meyers in the first half as the home team built that five point lead at intermission.
Meyers led the Lady Tomcats with 12 points.
Vancleave remains on the road in region play and heads to Wayne County Friday, while Stone travels to Purvis in league play on the same night.
