CARRIERE — The Hancock boys’ team came into Friday night’s road game in Carriere against Pearl River Central on a two-game region streak in Region 4-6A play.
But, the Blue Devils put an end to that.
PRC picked up one of its biggest wins of the season with a 68-63 win over the Hawks. In other Region 4-6A play Friday night, Pascagoula maintained first place with a 76-39 win over Long Beach while Picayune stayed in the second spot with a 55-45 win over Gautier.

In Carriere, PRC moved to just 7-9 overall but is now 2-4 and in fourth place in the region after the win over Hancock. The Blue Devils overcame a double digit deficit at the half, after being down 34-24 to start the third quarter.
Meanwhile, the Hawks fell to 7-15 overall and to an even 3-3 in the league and still managed to hang on to the third place spot at this time.

Elsewhere in the loop, two-time defending league champion Pascagoula went on the road and stayed unbeaten in the region race while also keeping Long Beach win-less in league play with a 76-39 thumping of the Bearcats.
Will Rogers paced a balanced four-pronged scoring attack for the Panthers with 17 points, while freshman Hayden Burns added 16 points and four assists for PHS and both Blake Nettles and Marcus Cooper chipped in 15 points apiece to the winning effort. Nettles also had seven rebounds, four steals and four assists.
Leroy Cameron had 10 points for LBHS, and Keveun Smyers had eight points. Donovan Magee pulled down nine rebounds and also had four assists.

Pascagoula is 16-6 overall and 6-0 in the region race, while the Bearcats dropped to 0-6 in league play and 8-13 overall.
And, in Gautier Friday night, Picayune toppled the home-standing Gators 55-45. The Maroon Tide bounced back from its first league loss of the season to Pascagoula on Tuesday to move to 5-1 in the region race and is 11-7 overall.
Gautier dropped to 10-12 overall and 2-4 in the loop.
