BILOXI — A pair of wins by league newcomer Presbyterian Christian over St. Patrick in the past two weeks has thrust the Lady Bobcats into sole possession of first place.
Visiting PCS toppled the Lady Irish 47-40 Tuesday to complete the first round of home-and-home action in Region 8-3A play. The Lady ‘Cats move to 4-0 in the region race. and 14-8 overall with the win.




Meanwhile, St. Patrick falls to 1-5 in the loop and 11-12 overall. The loss was the fifth straight in the region race for the Lady Irish, after SPHS opened league play with a 29-24 win over Tylertown three weeks ago.
Also stuck in that losing streak is a another single digit loss to PCS, 51-42 on the road in Hattiesburg two weeks ago.
St. Patrick heads to Tylertown for a rematch with the Lady Chiefs Friday night.




Then, on Tuesday, the Lady Irish will head to Bay St. Louis for their second match-up of the season with OLA, which sits in second place in the region race behind PCS.
St. Patrick is set to host the upcoming Region 8-3A Tournament early next month.
