LUCEDALE — George County’s L.B. Bradley was done.
The junior Rebel All-Star standout had no intentions of letting George County’s three game losing streak in Region 3-6A go any further Friday night when once mighty Jackson Forrest Hill came calling to Sellers Gymnasium.
Bradley poured in a game-high 39 points to lead his Rebels to an exciting 71-68 win in overtime over the Patriots. The decision moves GCHS to 13-11 overall and 3-5 in the region race. George County currently sits in fourth place in the league standings with one week left in regular season action.

In addition to Bradley’s 39 points, he also had six assists and five steals as GCHS snapped that losing skid. Karsyn Fairley chipped in 21 points to the winning attack for GCHS, and D.J. McNair ripped down a game-high 14 rebounds as well for the Rebels.
Bradley, who was recently named to play in the annual Mississippi Sports Medicine North/South All-Star Basketball Game in March, just missed matching his career-high of 41 points that he registered in a 76-52 win over West Jones two weeks ago. In fact, that was George County’s last win before the recent three game slide.

Now, Bradley, Fairley, McNair and the Rebels hit the road this week to finish off the region slate as the Rebels are scheduled to face West Jones on Tuesday and Hattiesburg on Friday night.
The Mustangs and Patriots are mired in last place in the region race both at 1-6, while the Tigers are a slot ahead of the Rebels and sit in the third spot at 4-3. Hattiesburg beat GCHS 71-49 in Lucedale two weeks ago.
The region tournament is set to take place in Terry. Both those THS Bulldogs and Jackson Jim Hill sit atop the league standings currently.
