BROOKLYN — It’s been a tough 2026 portion of the schedule for the Bay High girls basketball team.
And the latest outing may have been the toughest.
The Lady Tigers are still in search of their first Region 8-4A win, after falling in close fashion to home-standing Forrest County AHS Tuesday night 42-36.
The decision drops the Lady Tigers to 0-6 in the region race, and Bay High is also winless since the calendar flipped to the new year. Bay High is 11-15 overall, and BHS has two more shots at earning a league win before regular season play ends and the region tourney tips off in less than two weeks.

Forrest County, on the other hand, is 9-12 overall and 3-2 in the region race. Greene County leads Region 8-4A at 5-0, while Moss Point is second at 5-2 and FCAHS is next at 3-2. Pass Christian is in fourth place at 1-4, and Bay High rounds out the standing in the final spot.
Bay High got a game-high 16 points from Azlynn Morano in the losing effort Tuesday night, including all 13 of the Lady Tigers points in the third period as she did all she could do to keep her team within striking distance. Morano’s output included four 3-pointers on the evening.

The Lady Aggies were led by Kellie Mark, who finished up with 13 points. ayneva Keys, Khloe Shannon and Autumn Fairly each added seven points apiece to the winning effort for FCAHS.
In addition to Morano’s 16 points, Asiah Thompson also had 10 points for Bay High.
Bay High hosts Greene County in region action Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Forrest County AHS travels to Moss Point on Friday night to resume league play as well.
