ST. MARTIN — The St. Martin and Gulfport girls will meet in Region 4-7A action for the second time in a little over three weeks Tuesday night.
But it won’t take the two teams near that long to face off for a third time.
The Lady Yellow Jackets host the Lady Admirals in the penultimate league game for both squads as the final week of regular season play tips off. St. Martin is 15-9 overall while Gulfport sits at 17-8, and both teams are knotted up for the fourth seed in the region race for purposes of the upcoming league tournament next week in D’Iberville.

At the moment, the Lady Jackets hold the tie-breaker over GHS, but that could change depending on the outcome of the rematch Tuesday night. Regardless, the two teams are locked in to the fourth and fifth seeds and will meet once again early next week in the opening round of the region event with a berth to the Class 7A South State playoffs on the line.
St. Martin is coming off of a big win over visiting D’Iberville late last week, 61-29.

The Lady Jackets got 15 points from Janilla Curtis in the big win, while Kennedi Jenkins chipped in 12 points and Kristen Parker-Garraway added 10 points for SMHS. Dalazyia Mayes had nine points also.
Jaymie Guice scored 13 points for the Lady Warriors.
The Lady Yellow Jackets are playing without their two top players, as both Kaleah Lowery and Kylenn Ward recently suffered injuries.
St. Martin won the first meeting against Gulfport on the road several weeks back 56-33. But many of the key pieces to that win for the Lady jackets are now missing.
Gulfport has been off for a week after a 58-28 loss to league-leading Biloxi last Tuesday.
