PASCAGOULA — The Perl River Central girls pushed their way into the Class 6A South State playoffs Monday night.
The Lady Blue Devils bounced Gautier 38-27 in the opening round of the Region 4-6A Tournament here at Pascagoula High. The win not only moves PRC to 11-11 overall, but head coach Cliff Bauer’s crew clinched a spot in the upcoming Class 6A South State playoffs next week.





PRC got a game-high 19 points from Caitlyn Cruz in the winning effort, while Gabby Moore added 11 points and Marley Herring eight points.
Gautier got 13 points from Victoria Moore and eight points from Lauryn Powell in the loss, as the Lady Gators season came to an end at 5-23 overall.
PRC’s reward for the first round win is a date with perennial state power Hancock, the tourney’s top seed, at 4 p.m., Tuesday afternoon with a trip to the championship contest on the line.
