D’IBERVILLE — The Ocean Springs girls basketball put themselves into position to make the state playoffs Monday night.
The Lady Greyhounds thumped home-standing D’Iberville 52-35 in the play-in round of the Region 4-7A Tournament. The win moves sixth-seeded OSHS to 14-13 overall, and into a quarterfinal round match-up with third seed West Harrison Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m, with a berth in the upcoming Class 7A South State playoffs on the line.





The Lady Greyhounds got a game-high 16 points from senior standout Starr Jackson while Nyla Newsome chipped in 11 points to the winning effort and KaMarrah Jimmerson added eight points for OSHS.
Freshman stalwart Jaymie Guice led the Lady Warriors with 14 points as DHS ends its season at 4-21 overall.
