PASCAGOULA — The Hancock girls basketball team has won 35 consecutive Region 4-6A games.
A 36th will give the Lady Hawks their third straight league title. And that chance comes Friday night.
Top-seed Hancock faces second seed Picayune at 6 p.m., here at Pascaagoula High in the region tournament championship game. The Lady Hawks are going for their fourth straight 20 win season, as head coach Jamie Sisco’s crew is 19-9 overall after dispatching Pearl River Central 40-21 Tuesday night in the semifinal round.





Lexi Ladner led Hancock with 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, while both Lexi Dreher and freshman jaleigh Garriga chipped in seven points apiece to the winning effort.
Marley Herring had 11 points for PRC. The Lady Blue Devils are now 11-13 after a close 32-29 loss to Pascagoula Thursday night in the consolation contest.
Caitlyn Cruz had 15 points for PRC in that one, and Gabby Moore added eight points.





Meanwhile, Picayune got into the title tilt with a solid 41-33 win over host Pascagoula Tuesday night.
The Lady Tide were led by Laikyn Moore’s game-high 18 points, while Rhyen Goss added 12 points for Picayune. Devin Adkins grabbed a game-high eight rebounds as well.
Picayune is 14-14 overall heading into the game Friday night.
