BILOXI — The rubber match between OLA and St. Patrick in Region 8-3A girls basketball is set for Friday night.
And this one is for all the marbles.
The top-seeded Crescents take on the Lady Fighting Irish at 6 p.m., here at St. Patrick High in the region tournament championship game at 6 p.m. The two arch-rivals split a pair of games during regular seasson play.

On Tuesday in the semifinal round, OLA slipped past West Marion 54-51. Sophomore sensation Taylor Henley tallied a game-high 26 points to pace the Crescents, while Valentina Mossy chipped in nine points to the winning effort and Mariah Broughton added eight points for OLA.
The Crescents are now 20-7 overall on the season.
St. Patrick followed that up by upsetting second-seed Presbyterian Christian 52-36.

The Lady Irish got a game-high 25 points out of junior stalwart guard Alex Pattino in the decision.
St. Patrick, which stands at 16-12 overall entering the title tilt, upset OLA on the road 72-54 two weeks ago as Pattino poured in a career-high 45 points in the top scoring output in the “Southern Six” this season.
In the first meeting between the two teams this season, OLA beat SPHS 67-61 a month ago.
