PASS CHRISTIAN — The Pass Christian boys basketball team has done it again.
The Pirates captured their third straight Region 8-4A Tournament title with an impressive 68-49 win over Forrest County AHS Friday night at Arthur Haynes Gymnasium on the campus of Moss Point High School.
The win was the 20th of the season for second-year head coach Robin Sikes’ crew, which now stands a solid 20-9 overall on the season, and the Pirates will host an opening round home game Tuesday night in the Class 4A South State playoffs.


Senior 6-foot-5 stalwart Kyran Laneaux enjoyed an impressive outing for PCHS as he posted a double-double with game-high totals of 21 points and 12 rebounds. His classmate, senior standout and Dandy Dozen guard Landon Hall was key as well as he chipped in 20 points and eight rebounds to the winning effort. Also, the sophomore duo of Theo Hawkins and Mario Burks added nine points apiece for the Pirates against the. as well.
The Pass reached the championship contest after an 84-46 in the semifinal round three days prior.


The big man Laneaux once again led the way, producing another double-double with a career-high 35 points and 10 rebounds. Hall tallied 24 points, and sophomore Sheldon Stapleton had 12 points and eight rebounds.
Sikes was named as the Region 8-4A Coach of the Year.
Pass Christian takes a 10 game win streak into the Class 4A South State playoffs. The Pirates host McComb to open the playoffs Tuesday night.
