Both OLA and St. Patrick earned wins at home in the opening round of the Class 3A South State playoffs Monday night.
The Crescents, the Region 8-3A champions, thumped Hazelhurst 61-23. OLA placed a trio of players in double digits in the big win, led by sophomore sensation Taylor Henley with 20 points, while junior Leah Laporte chipped in 18 points to the winning cause. Valentia Mossy added 10 points for the Crescents.
OLA is now a solid 22-7 on the season.

Meanwhile, in Biloxi, St. Patrick bounced Crystal Springs 43-34.
The Lady Irish, the second seed from Region 8-3A, moved to 17-13 with the win nd seem to be hitting their peak at just the right time, having won six of their past seven games.
