Prep Baseball: Greyhounds remain unbeaten with 4-1 win over Panthers

OCEAN SPRINGS — So far so good for Ocean Springs.
The Greyhounds are still unbeaten after two weeks of play in the new prep baseball season, after OSHS turned back visiting Pascagoula 4-1 Saturday afternoon in an all Jackson County showdown.
The win moves the Greyhounds to 5-0, and drops the Panthers to 2-4 overall.

Ocean Springs wasted no time in jumping on top right off the bat, taking a 2-0 lead on Adam Clower’s two-run home run just three batters in.
Yet another two spot by the home team in the bottom of the fourth frame doubled up the OSHS advantage to 4-0, as one run scored on an RBI sacrifice fly by Victor Rojas and another followed on a Panther error.
Pascagoula avoided the shutout at the last possible point, on a run-scoring single by Owen Estroso.

Clower had two hits to lead OSHS offensively.

The loss overshadowed an outstanding day at the plate for Pascagoula’s Carlos Fernandez, who collected three hits including a triple and a double.
Tristan Fox, one of four OSHS pitchers, started and worked the first four frames to earn the win on the mound.
Aiden Perez took the loss for PHS.
