POPLARVILLE — Guess who’s back????
Pascagoula punched its ticket to “The Big House” for third straight season Wednesday Night in the boy’s Class 6A South State Quarterfinal round here at White Coliseum on the campus of Pearl River Community College.
The Panthers used an 11-0 run from late in the third period until almost mid-way through the fourth period to erase a six point deficit and roll on to a big 74-60 win in the process.
Pascagoula, now 27-6 overall, will face Jackson Callaway at 1:3e0 p.m., Monday afternoon in the overall Class 6A Final Four round at The Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

The Panthers overcame an early 5-0 deficit right off the bat with a 3-pointer apiece from each twin in Jacob Griffin and Adam Griffin, and a trey at the buzzer from just past mid-court by Ireyion Harvey put PHS up 16-15 after the first frame.
Harvey nailed yet another 3-pointer right away to open the second stanza, and even though both teams hit a bit of a cold spell the rest of the period Adam Griffin’s trey with just :10 seconds left allowed the Panthers to retain that slight one point advantage at halftime at 26-25.
But both teams heated up in the third frame, as Jim Hill’s Cameron Mayes opened the second half with three straight treys to help his Tigers jump in front, by as many as six, at 50-44, at one point. However, Pascagoula’s Blake Nettles ended the quarter with back-to-back baskets inside and the teams went to the final period with the Tigers up 50-48.

And Nettles, Pascagoula’s “Class 6A Mr. Basketball, wasn’t done. He scored the first two basket of the fourth frame as that Panther spurt reached 11-0 with just over four minutes to play and proplelled Pascagoula to a 57-50 lead.
Jim Hill never got closer than four points the rest of the way.
After scoring only three points in the first half, Nettles took over the game the rest of the way and finished with a game-high 28 points to pace the Panthers. Both Adam Griffin and Harvey had 12 points apiece.

Sophomore center Ashtin Chancellor led Jim Hill with 16 points. The Tigers end the season at 25-7.
