Prep Baseball: Greyhounds complete three game sweep of Indians Saturday afternoon

OCEAN SPRINGS — The start of Region 4-7A play for Ocean Springs went exactly the same as the non-league part of the schedule went for the Greyhounds.
Home-standing Ocean Springs bombed Biloxi 12-0 Saturday afternoon in just 4 1/2 innings to finish off a clean sweep of the Indians in the opening three game series in region play. The Greyhounds are now a perfect 8-0 overall, and 3-0 in the region race, while Biloxi drops to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Ocean Springs was up 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, when the Greyhounds erupted and doubled that lead up to the final count to end the game early.
Troy signee Justin San Miguel had a two-run double in the uprising, and Sam Raymond ended the on-slaught with a two-run single.
The Greyhounds wasted no time in jumping on the Indians right off the bat, as Adam Clower posted an RBI-double and Tristan Fox added a run-scoring single in a three run first frame.

Both Fox and Maddox Russell produced RBI-doubles in the third inning, and San Miguel had a run-scoring single to make it 6-0.
Both San Miguel and Fox had two hits apiece to lead OSHS offensively, diving in three and two runs apiece, respectively. Clower, Russsell and Raymond also drove in two runs apiece in the winning 10 hit attack.
Patterson Gilfoil started on the mound and allowed just one hit in four shutout frames to earn the win.
Cash Taylor started and last just one inning for the Indians to take the loss.

After opening the series with a 9-3 win Tuesday, OSHS then followed that up wsith an 8-5 road wsin Friday night.

Ocean Springs faces Harrison Central this week as it remains in region play, while Biloxi takes on D’Iberville in league play as well.

The Greyhounds sit tied atop the top spot in the region race at 3-0 with Gulfport. The Admirals are also 3-0 after sweeping Harrison Central last week, while D’Iberville took two-out-of-three games from West Harrison.
