BILOXI — George County is gonna be thick in the middle of the 10th annual Battle at the Beach this week.
However, the Rebels got off to an inauspicious start in the event Friday.
Pensacola Tate pitcher Lance Brady hurled a complete game, no-hit shutout as the Aggies blanked GCHS 5-0 here at The Biloxi Sports Complex in early Day Two BATB action.

Brady struck out nine and walked just one in the sparkling performance. He set the side down in order in six of the seven stanzas, including the first four and last two, after giving up that walk with one out in the fifth frame.
Evan Taylor had two hits and drove in three runs for Tate, including an RBI-single in a decisive two-run fifth inning that broke open a 0-0 deadlock and put the Aggies ahead for good.
George County pitcher Brayden Havard, one of four Rebel hurlers, started and took the loss but he kept his team in the game through the first four frames.

It marked the second straight time last week that the Rebels were dealt a no-hi, shou out loss following an 11-0 five inning decision by Petal on Tuesday.

The Rebels bounced back to beat Greene County 8-2 Saturday, and now stand 8-5 overall as they prepare to host two games this week in BATB play.

George County got hree hits and an RBI apiece from both Carson Pierce and Grant Reeves in the win over the Wildcats, while Cayler Havard had two hits and drove in a run also.
