BILOXI — West Harrison pitcher Cameron Sandel was perfect on the mound in the 10th annual Battle at the Beach.
Sandel, a senior, picked up a pair of wins in a 48 hour span helping his Hurricanes go 3-0 in a three day stretch in the process.
He saved his best for last, however, twirling a twp-hit, complete game shutout in a 2-0 win over Picayune Friday afternoon here at Keesler Federal Park.

The successful stretch leaves West Harrison at 9-5 overall, after a 12-2 win over Horn Lake on Wednesday and a 13-2 thumping of Canton Academy on Thursday.
Sandel also earned the win over Horn Lake.
In his latest outing, Hurricane teammate Jesse Gill slapped a run-scoring single to right with no outs in the bottom of the second to put WHHS up 1-0 over the Maroon Tide.
Tyler Gazzier’s RBI-ground out in the fourth made it 2-0 and ended the scoring.

Sandel also posted a game-high two hits for the Hurricanes.
Picayune starter Kendall Blevins allowed all four Hurricane hits and both runs while working into the fifth.
The Maroon Tide went 1-2 in their three BATB games, and sits at 7-6 overall and they head into Region 4-6A play next week.
