LUCEDALE — George County softball standout Aryana Dixon gets the “Baria Law Firm Game Ball of the Week” this week.
Every week throughout the end of the school year, we will honor student/athletes across the “Southern Six” with our “Game Ball of the Week” sponsored by David Baria, Attorney-Mediator.
Dixon delivered a career-high five hits and drove in three runs as the defending Class 6A state champs tuned up for the start of region play with a 14-7 win Monday night.

Dixon was five-for-five at the plate, and she also drove in three runs in the big win in an all “Southern Six” showdown.
She had a key two-run double in the bottom of the fourth frame, and after her Lady Rebels fell behind 1-0 to open the action she ignited a two-run bottom of the inning with a lead-off single that eventually resulted in 12 unanswered runs for GCHS to put the game away.
She also leads George County with an impressive .429 batting average so far this season from her leadoff spot, and she is tied for second on the squad in doubles, triples and home runs.

Dixon and her Lady Rebels will jump into Region 3-6A play over the next two days with three games at home, hosting Hattiesburg Thursday and then taking on Jackson Forrest Hill Friday in a doubleheader.
Dixon was part of a strong group on the softball diamond last year that led the Lady Rebels to the Class 6A state championship.
