CARRIERE — Pearl River Central is back “down south” in region action this season for the first time in three seasons.
And, so far it’s been a good move for the Blue Devils.
Home-standing PRC dispatched Gautier Saturday afternoon in fine fashion for the third time in five days, thumping the Gators 12-1 in five frame to sweep the opening Region 4-6A three. game series for both teams. The Blue Devils have played the past two seasons in Region 3-6A.



The win moves the Blue Devils to 11-5 overall, but PRC has won 11 out of its past 14 games after falling to a pair of Louisiana teams to open the year. When combined with a 12-0 win, also in five innings, on Tuesday and a 14-5 decision Friday night PRC out-scored 38-6 in the three game set and the Blue Devils collected 35 hits in just 15 innings at bat.
In the finale on Saturday, Blue Devil junior standout J.J. Morealle collected a game-high four hits, including a pair of doubles and a triple, and he drove in a run to pace PRC at the plate. Eric Mavor had two hits, including a double, and drove in a game-high three runs also, while Roman Mitchell posted a two-run double as well in the game-winning 11-hit attack.

Caden Jones had two hits, including an RBI-double, for Gautier.
Ian McInnis took the loss.

On Friday night, in Gautier, Talon Cipriano, Landyn Wilson and Will Cothran each had two hits apiece to lead PRC’s 14-hit effort. Wilson also had two RBIs.
McInnnis had two doubles and drove in two runs for the Gators, and Dakkoda Jackson had two hits also.
