CLINTON — Harrison Central junior Dandy Dozen standout Saniah Murray paced her Red Rebelettes to the Class 7A state championship game in Jackson earlier this month.
She returned to the same area over the weekend and showed out once again.
Murray tallied a game-high 10 points and pulled down six rebounds to earn Most Valuable Player honors in the game as the South squad slipped past the North team in the annual Mississippi Sports Medicine North/South All-Star Game for the largest classification Saturday.

The contest, the Girls 7-5A contest, was one of four played at A.E. Wood Coliseum on the Campus of Mississippi College. All four games consist of players that just wrapped up their junior campaigns at their respective schools.
Murray’s teammates included guard Jayla Carriere of Biloxi, who had seven points, as well as her Lady Indian teammate in Xaniyah Johnson, who only scored two points but hauled in a game-high 10 boards as well. Laikyn Moore of Picayune scored two points also for the South.

The North MVP was Shastyn Lewis of Neshoba Central.
In the Class 7A-5A boys game, the North beat the South 96-87 in overtime.
The North MVP was Braxton Ward of Jackson Callaway, and the South MVP was DeShawn Dillon of Northwest Rankin.
The South head coach was Terry Bradley of George County.

Gulfport’s Adrian Martin scored 12 points for the South, and his Admiral teammate Denzel Jackson had nine points as did Pascagoula’s Marcus Cooper. Jeremie Packer of Ocean Springs scored six points, and Markell Simmons of St. Martin had five points. L.B. Bradley of George County had two points also.
In the boys’ Class 4A-1A game, the South won 63-42.
The South MVP was Christian Expose of Columbia, and the North MVP was Tarrius Weeks of Coahoma County.

Rafael Cohen, fresh off leading St. Stanislaus to the Class 6A state title, scored six points and had six rebounds for the South.
In the girls Class 4A-1A contest, the South beat the North 67-60.
The South MVP was Mariyah Farrell of Heidelberg, and the North MVP was Alana Lewis of Kossuth.
