Prep Baseball: George County dismantles Jackson Jim Hill twice Tuesday

LUCEDALE — Well, thank goodness that’s over…
George County moved to 6-0 in Region 3-6A by destroying visiting Jackson Jim Hill Tuesday afternoon 16-1 in four innings and 22-0 in just two innings in a league doubleheader.
In the first game, the Rebels scored a lot of runs.
In the second game, the Rebels scored even more runs.

“We did what we needed to do to put us in a place to play for the district championship and control our destiny,” veteran GCHS head coach Brandon Davis said.
Cayler Havard had a hame run in the opener for GCHS.
In the nightcap, an almost inexplicable 12 different players registered at least one hit over just two at bats for the Rebels.

The lopsided decision move the Rebels to 14-6 overall. George County also assured its self of a state playoff berth with the pair of wins.
The Rebels face West Jones in a battle for the top seed in the region race in a two game, home and home series next week. The Mustangs are also 6-0 in the region race.
