OCEAN SPRINGS — The Ocean Springs High softball team celebrated “Senior Night” Wednesday night by completing a sweep of Biloxi.

The Lady Greyhounds clipped the Lady Indians 4-2 in Region 4-7A action to remain atop the league standings. The decision was the back half of a two day, two-game home-and-home series between the longtime rivals as OSHS took game one Tuesday night 9-3 at the Biloxi Sports Complex.

The pair of wins moved the Lady Greyhounds to 6-0 in the region race and 17-7 overall.

K’Lee Gum, Taylor Farra, Addison Johnson and Emma Franklin each collected two hits apiece Tuesday night to combine for eight of the 12 OSHS hits in the game-winning attack. Both Franklin and Farra each had an RBI-double apiece in a three-run first frame that gave the home team a quick lead it would never relinquish.

In the circle, Franklin breezed through the first six stanzas with a one-hit shutout, before easing up a little in the last inning as Biloxi broke through a bit. She still picked up the win, striking out seven in the process.

Aubrey Atchison drove in both BHS runs.

Annabella Simmons took the loss for the Lady Indians, who fell to 10-10 overall and 2-4 in the region race.

In Tuesday’s win, Gum posted game-high totals with four hits and three RBIs to lead OSHS to the win.
