Prep Softball: D’Iberville takes two from Gulfport in Region 4-7A play

GULFPORT — D’Iberville maintained solid control of the second spot in Region 4-7A this week with a two game sweep of Gulfport in league play.
The Lady Warriors took an 11-3 road win Thursday night to complete the twin killing. D’Iberville is 13-3-1 overall, and a solid 6-2 in the region race, while the Lady Admiral fell to 9-8 overall and 2-4 in the loop.
The Lady Warriors collected 12 hits in the game-winning attack Tuesday night, with Annah Niceley leading the hit parade with two hits, including a two-run home run, and she posted three total RBIs. Abby Ledbetter had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs as well, while Emerson Hall and Londyn Hall each also had two hits, including a double apiece.

Hll went the distance in the circle to pick up the pitching win, striking out nine in the process.
Paige Morre had two hits, including an RBI-triple, for Gulfport and Georgia Emmer also had two hits, including a double.
Presley Savant started and suffered the loss for the Lady Admirals.
The only thing more impressive from DHS than that win was an 11-1 home win Tuesday over Gulfport to open the series.

The Lady Warriors also banged out 12 hits in that one as well.
Lexi Powell tallied a game-high three hits for DHS, while Kaleigh West had two hits, including a home run, and drove in a game-high three RBIs. Ledbetter had a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs as well.
Ford took the pitching win in that game also.
D’Iberville sits behind league-leading Ocean Springs in the Region 4-7A standings.
