GAUTIER — In its first season in Region 4-6A, the Pearl River Central softball team is making its presence known.
The Lady Blue Devils remained in first place in the region race with an easy 14-0 win over home-standing Gautier Tuesday afternoon. The win, which came in just four innings, pushed PRC to 6-1 in league play and 14-8-1 overall under head coach Tony Labella.




Sophomore catcher Addison Davis wielded the big bat at the plate for PRC against the Lady Gators, as she produced game-high totals in hits and RBIs with three ach, including a solo home run and a two-run single in the winning effort. Kylie Terry also drove in a pair of runs for the Lady Devils.
Bayli Cucinello continued her impressive work in the circle, as she tossed the one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in the mercy rule shortened contest.




Lyla Farnum took the loss for Gautier, while Madison Medina also saw some time in the circle for the Lady Gators who fell to 0-7 in the region race and 3-13 overall.
The two teams will meet again Thursday in Carriere. The Class 6A South State playoffs will begin in two weeks, as region play wraps up next week.
