PASS CHRISTIAN — Powerful Pass Christian pitcher Bristol Jones gets the “Baria Law Firm Game Ball of the Week” this week.

Every week throughout the end of the school year, we will honor student/athletes across the “Southern Six” with our “Game Ball of the Week” sponsored by David Baria, Attorney-Mediator.

Jones, just a sophomore, has made her mark on the prep softball circles in South Mississippi all season long with her marksmanship on the mound.

In just the last week alone, she struck out 15 in hurling a complete game, one-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over Forrest County AHS in Region 8-4A play.

Prior to that, she came on in relief in a win over playoff bound Class 7A squad D’Iberville to earn the win with 123 strike outs in just five frames of work in an 8-7 win in eight innings for the Lady Pirates.

She also contributed offensively as well in those two wins, with four hits, including a double, and a pair of RBIs. Also, she drove in two runs in a 16-0 win over Moss Point Thursday night.

Also, in a pair of wins over arch-rival Bay High recently in region action, she combined to strike out 27 Lady Tigers in earning both wins in the circle.

Her pitching prowess has put Pass Christian in prime position to make a deep run in the upcoming Class 4A South State playoffs, which begin late next week.
