LUCEDALE — The George County High prep softball squad left no doubt who the top team in Region 3-6A is this week.

The Lady Rebels thumped West Jones twice by identical 11-0 shutout scores to wrap up the league title at 10-0. It marks the fourth straight region crown for GCHS.

On Thursday, a four run first frame highlighted by a two-run double from Addison Davis, got the Lady Rebels off to a quick start in game two as they carried over the momentum from that game one win on the road earlier in the week.

George County scored at least two runs in each of the next three innings to end the game after five frames with the mercy rule.

Davis gathered a game-high three hits, including a triple, to pace GCHS at the plate, while Kyleigh Howell also had a triple.

Davis also hurled a two-hit shutout in the circle to earn the pitching win.

The Lady Mustangs didn’t help their cause much, committing five errors in the loss.

On Tuesday in Soso, in a game that ended after six stanzas, Peyton Collins tossed a one-hit shut out to lead the Lady Rebels to the win.

Braylee Bishop had two hits, including a double, and tallied a career-high six RBIs for GCHS while Blakely Slay drove in three runs as well.
