Meanwhile, the Admirals have now been swept in two of their last three league series and fall to 8-7 in the loop and 13-12 overall. Gulfport is the fourth seed currently.
St. Martin starting pitcher River Groue held Gulfport in check all day, as he went the distance to earn the win, allowing six hits.
The Yellow Jackets broke open a 0-0 deadlock, scoring all four of their runs in the bottom of the fifth, thanks in large part to a two-run single by Dax Hill.
Gulfport stater Tavion Collier combined with Admiral ace reliever Thomas Stennis to limit SMHS to just four hits, including a double by Cameron Romero, but Collier was saddled with the loss after working into the fifth frame.
