OCEAN SPRINGS — Ocean Springs senior stalwart Adam Clower is the “Southern Six Senior Spotlight” sponsored by Burnham Drugs this week.

Each week of the school year, we here at SouthMiss6 Sports along with Burnham Drugs will highlight a deserving student/athlete in the “Southern Six”.

The 6-foot-, 200-pound Clower has been a rock for the Greyhounds all season long and has helped guide his squad to an impressive 24-2 overall mark as well as a program record 16-0 stretch in Region 4-7A play. Ocean Springs recently captured its third straight region title.

The versatile Clower has started all 26 games for the Greyhounds this season, and has made his mark in all three phases of the game at the plate, on the mound and in the field.

Offensively, he leads OSHS in RBIs with 19, and he also leads the team in plate appearances and is tied for second in doubles with five.

On the hill, he’s 3-0 with one shutout and one complete game. When he’s not pitching, he’s been one of the most solid first basemen in the “Southern Six”.

Clower and his teammates are preparing to open the upcoming Class 7A South State playoffs at home late next week, but first they wrap up the regular season on the road at St. Martin Friday night and then back at home at Greyhound Field Saturday afternoon.
